In a world driven by fear and misconceptions, that question doesn’t get the attention it deserves. Some organizations advance their cause by painting a tragic picture, while others preserve a sense of comfort by sweeping difficult realities under the rug. In both cases, the voices of individuals who possess first-hand experience are often pushed to the sidelines because our perspectives don’t fit neatly into one bucket. Simply put, that is why this page exists.
Each of the following stories shines a new light on what it means to live with a. Disability. Some posts will be easy to read, while others will prompt you to pause and ponder. Moreover, because life is full of complicated emotions, we expect that you will experience a range of feelings as you learn from each author. We specifically told our community that they don’t need to sugarcoat, so be forewarned.
Having said that, we would also remind you that many of the obstacles people with disabilities face are social or structural in nature. If we as humans have created a majority of these hurdles, it is within our power to tare them down and replace them with something better. As you consider each story, ask yourself: “What can I do to make the world a little more accessible and inclusive?”. We promise, the answer is never “nothing”. Little changes create major progress.
Note: We will be adding stories as they come in. Please check back soon.

Authentic belonging, powerful opportunities, lasting change.
Everyone has something to contribute. If you have been marginalized or treated as though you are invisible, your voice is needed here.
We all have a story. Share your unvarnished truth. No need to put a Disney spin on things in order to avoid that awkward moment when the outside world can’t take hearing about your reality. What’s really going on in your world?
You can highlight resources that have benefited you. This can be tips and tricks that you’ve picked up, or it can be organizations that have made an impact. We want to recognize organizations that don’t garner enough attention.
